DAY 1: Cooking Connects Cultures

Our Featured Guest:

Chef and TV Personality, Eric Adjepong

It’s going to be a delicious start to Crayola Creativity Week, as chef and celebrated Food Network TV personality Eric Adjepong shares his book, Sankofa: A Culinary Story of Resilience and Belonging. Students will learn more about Eric’s Ghanian culture and growing up in New York City as a first generation American and be inspired to create alongside him as he illustrates jollof rice and the Sankofa bird. Tempt your learners’ appetites for creativity and the joy of food to connect us all!

Supplies needed: Computer or phone access to play video, a variety of Crayola art tools, plain paper or printed Thinking Sheets, copy of the book SANKOFA (optional)
